A native of San Francisco, Paul V. Priolo received his BA in political science from UC Berkeley in 1951. He began his political career in 1966 when he was elected to California State Assembly. He served in the assembly until 1980, rising to the position of minority leader. He served under both father and son governors, Edmund G.
